Irish Pub Awards Regional Winners Gather in Tullamore for Management Masterclass
The regional winners of the 2025 Irish Pub Awards came together on October 14th at the Tullamore Court Hotel for a special Management Masterclass, celebrating their achievements while equipping them with fresh insights and practical skills for continued success.
The day began with a warm welcome over tea and coffee before moving into a series of expert-led sessions designed to inspire and empower Ireland’s best publicans.
The opening session, “Telling Your Story – Media Confidence for Publicans”, was led by Barry McLoughlin of The Communications Clinic. Barry shared practical advice on building media confidence, using social and traditional media effectively, and telling a compelling story that connects with audiences.
Next, Andrew Dickey of Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard explored shifting trends in the on-trade with “The Next Round: Spirits, Advocacy & Consumer Shifts in the On-Trade”. This lively discussion delved into the evolving world of spirits—from the enduring appeal of Irish whiskey to the rise of tequila—and how bar advocates play a vital role in shaping consumer experiences.
After lunch, Marc Thornton from Agile Executives delivered an engaging session on “Creating Memorable Customer Experiences”, highlighting how exceptional service and consistent standards can drive repeat business, boost morale, and increase profitability.
The day concluded with a vibrant and interactive wine tasting masterclass led by Therese O’Toole, Head of Bibendum Ireland. In “Pouring Profits”, attendees learned how strategic wine selection, smart pricing, and thoughtful pairing can elevate customer satisfaction and drive new revenue opportunities.
The day wrapped up with an evening dinner, giving regional winners the chance to relax, celebrate, and network with peers from across the country.
Congratulations to all the regional winners who joined us in Tullamore — your dedication and innovation continue to set the standard for excellence in Irish hospitality.
